Charmi Chheda is a multitalented individual who thrives on storytelling through various creative mediums. As a writer, filmmaker, designer, theatre maker, artist, actor, and dancer, she explores different avenues to share narratives that captivate and inspire. Regardless of the medium, Charmi’s passion for storytelling remains at the core of her work, driving her to create meaningful and engaging experiences.
In addition to her artistic pursuits, Charmi is also a Tarot reader with a deep interest in crystals, colors, and numerology. With over two decades of experience, she has honed her skills as a Tarot reader, offering guidance and insights through the cards. Her fascination with crystals, colors, and numerology further deepens her understanding of symbolism and energy in her storytelling.
Recently, Charmi wrote, directed, and produced her second feature film titled “Buelwa – An offering,” which premiered in Chicago, showcasing her versatility and dedication to filmmaking. Her debut feature film, “Gangnam Girls,” garnered recognition as the best debut feature film at the UK Asian Film Festival and was screened at the renowned British Film Institute, cementing her position as a rising talent in the industry.
Throughout her journey, Charmi has also contributed her creative expertise as a Creative Specialist, collaborating with the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Information and Communication in Bhutan. Her passion for storytelling extends beyond her personal projects as she works to bring creativity and innovation to different platforms and projects, making a significant impact on both local and international audiences.
As the Creative Director of The Royal Academy of preforming Arts (RAPA), she has written, designed and directed stage/ theatre shows. These shows were exclusive and specially created for State guests, visiting from different countries.
Charmi also curated a 51 day drama festival in Bhutan, with more than 1500 participants. She has also directed and designed the dance and drama performances for the prestigious National day of Bhutan for the years 2018, 2019 and 2020.
