Karma
Conservator
Mr. Karma is a professional wall painting conservator, the first and only one in Bhutan as of now. He earned his MA in Conservation of Wall Paintings at the Courtauld Institute of Art in London, England. He also holds a Masters degree in Buddhist Art: History and Conservation from The Courtauld Institute of Art and Kings College, London.
He has worked with the Courtauld Institute of Art on the conservation of wall paintings at Tango Monastery. He has also worked on wall paintings and cultural artifacts throughout Bhutan. Along with it, he has also worked on fortress paintings in Rajasthan (Ahhichatragarh Fort, Nagaur) and the UK (Longthorpe Tower, Peterborough) . Additionally, he completed internships at the Victoria and Albert Museum in London and at private conservation studios there.
