Of the 2,900 species of birds found in Asia, Bhutan is home to more than 700 of them. As a result, this tiny Himalayan nation is considered a birding paradise. The diversity of birds is largely attributed to the variety of climates and habitats ranging from 95 to 7,550 meters.
The variety of bird life in Bhutan is accentuated by the migrations of hundreds of species between breeding grounds across a vast expanse of Asia to the north, and wintering grounds of the subcontinent of India to the south.
Orog has developed this itinerary solely to take you on an incredible bird watching journey through the three western regions of Paro, Thimphu and Punakha while offering you a cultural insight into a kingdom steeped in age-old traditions and practices.
